The Real Democracy Party aims to drive real progress in our tax system. Progress that is based upon a truly progressive tax system.
The Real Democracy Party believes that tax should be used to establish a progressive, equitable, just and motivating socio-economic framework, (within our communities) and for our nation.
This Real Deal New Age Tax policy affirms the essential point that our economy should serve the owners of our common wealth - all Australians - not just the 1%. This is the opposite of the existing tax system where PAYE employees pay an unreasonably amount of tax and big companies and wealthy individuals pay little or no tax. To this end the Real Democracy Party proposes the following personal and micro business tax rates.
Personal & Micro Business Tax Rates:
Individuals and small business owners will pay zero tax on income up to $50,000.
Sole parents and families with any children under the age of twenty five living at home will pay zero tax on income up to $87,001. The same will apply for all sole parents and families with any children under the age of 25 owning a micro business.
Individuals and individuals who have a micro business owners will pay 10% tax on earnings between $50,000 and $87,001.
When income exceeds $117,000 the tax rate will be 20% until $150,000 where the tax rate will be 25%.
A 30% tax rate commences at $180,001 and 35% tax rate cuts in at $220,000.
A 40% tax rate commences at $250,000 and a 45% tax rate cuts in at $300,000.
In a Real Democracy common wealth government all taxes will be reviewed to ensure alignment with the important facts and principles of the Real Democracy Party and the realities of Australia’s monetary system.
Taxes will be designed to conform to the following principles for sustainable community development:
regulate access to real resources to encourage sustainability, whilst optimising the productive capacity of the economy.
create fiscal “space” for the government to enact its social agenda taking into consideration the clear, present and ongoing existential threat of climate change for all Australians and the eco systems we depend on to survive.
moderate excess, where excess has a negative impact on society.
protect our environment from wanton destruction with no benefit to the wider community or the environment.
